Today, social networking sites span the spectrum of demographic groups. While teenagers are still more apt to use them
than older people, there are now niche social networking sites, which target
people who all share some common interest, such as skateboarding or
investing.
Now, in addition to teenagers and adults, social
networks are increasingly becoming used by another group – businesses.
That's right: many businesses are now infiltrating social networks to advertise
in some subtle manner – and then replicate their message through systems that
are already available within the social network.
The most prominent social network is -
1. Facebook
If the affiliate product you are selling has a broad appeal, you may want to use Facebook to market your product as you
will be able to reach the largest crowd quickly. Now, there are a number of
different ways in which you can market your affiliate product through FB. One
way is to set up a profile and then begin adding friends to your list on a daily
basis. Depending on your goals, you may want to add a personal profile for
yourself and then talk about your business/product on your page; or you may
want to simply create a profile for your business and use that to market your
product. Once you have had some experience marketing on FB, you will want to
consider looking at other social networking sites.
2. YouTube
YouTube affiliate marketing is an online business model where you can generate revenue by adding affiliate links for
products/services. You can make money on YouTube by doing affiliate
marketing, which is including links to products you review and use in your
videos. If someone makes a purchase using your affiliate link, you receive a
small commission for the sale.
3. Twitter
Twitter’s
monthly usage is increased day by day. It is one of the best social media
platforms to target an audience with a potential reach of approximately 300
million users to different advertisements. Twitter
is also counted among the most active social media networks, with around 5000
tweets a second. You must use the Twitter trending hashtag. For being visible on
other’s profiles, you should tweet 8 to 10 times a day.
4. Instagram
After Facebook, users find Instagram as the
most popular social media platform, with 1billion (MAUs) monthly active users.
lt allows user to share a wide range of content such as photos, videos,
Stories, and live videos. It has also recently launched IGTV for longer-form
videos. Social media affiliates use Instagram as it
is widely used globally. There is no limit to the amount of text and you can
explain the product/service in detail.
5. Snap Chat
It is the best platform to target users under the age of 35. Snap Chat has 265million daily active users with 10billion views daily on different photos and videos. It has attracted many affiliate marketers to brand the business and market products.
6. WhatsApp
Although WhatsApp itself does not allow
ads, still there are plenty of ways to take advantage of its unique format and
earn money. In affiliate marketing, you can get a commission that is dependent
upon the product, which you have to sell. After getting your affiliate URL,
start promoting it on WhatsApp by sharing the link with your contacts and
connected groups.
Whichever sites you decide to use, keep the following in mind your goal should be to develop a network of people who share a common interest and could potentially be interested in your specific product. For this reason, it is always a good idea to think long-term (i.e. don't do things that are going to get you banned) instead, concentrate on building your network and introducing them to your affiliate product.
